Jakarta City Council Announces the Elected Governor and Deputy Governor

Jakarta City Council Chairperson, Khoirudin announced the elected Governor and Deputy Governor 2024 in a Plenary Meeting at Jakarta City Council (DPRD) Building, on Tuesday (1/14) morning. He was accompanied by City Council Deputy Chairpersons, Ima Mahdiah, Rany Mauliani, and Basri Baco.

"Through the Jakarta City Council Plenary Meeting, we officially announce the determination of the candidate pair for Jakarta Governor and Deputy Governor,"

"Today, Tuesday, January 14, 2025, through the Jakarta City Council Plenary Meeting, we officially announce the determination of the candidate pair for Jakarta Governor and Deputy Governor, Number 3 Dr. Ir. Pramono Anung Wibowo, M.M. and H. Rano Karno, S.IP.," he stated.

Plenary Meeting to Determine the Elected Governor-Vice Governor will Be Held Tomorrow

He explained that the determination of the elected Governor and Deputy Governor was based on the total valid votes submitted to Jakarta KPU. According to him, this is a clear evidence of the active participation of Jakarta residents in the regional election process that has run smoothly, safely, and peacefully.

The elected Governor and Deputy Governor candidate pair for 2025-2030 period received 2,183,239 votes or 50.07 percent of the total valid votes.

After the announcement, the Jakarta City Council will correspond to the President through Minister of Home Affairs to obtain the determination of Pramono Anung Wibowo and Rano Karno as the Jakarta Governor and Deputy Governor for 2025-2030 period. 

Khoirudin also congratulated the elected Governor and Deputy Governor and hoped both of them could be entrusted in carrying out their duties and be able to bring positive changes for the advancement of Jakarta .

"The challenges are not easy, but with commitment and hard work, as well as synergy between executive and legislative, we believe Jakarta can be a more advanced city for Jakarta residents," he said.

The announcement was based on the Decree of the Jakarta General Election Commission No. 9/2025 dated on January 9, 2025 on the Determination of Candidate Pair for Jakarta Governor and Deputy Governor.

Following up on the letter from Jakarta KPU, the Jakarta City Council Deliberative Body has set a schedule for today's Plenary Meeting in order to announce the Candidate Pair for Elected Jakarta Governor and Deputy Governor in 2024.
